Innovation Week is a series of events in Dar es Salaam exploring innovations in research, development, entrepreneurship, technology and design. Curated by the Human Development Innovation Fund (HDIF), in partnership with COSTECH, and funded by UK Aid. Innovation Week 2018 (#IW2018) will kick off on Monday May 21, 2018 and run until Saturday May 26, 2018. This year the theme is “Innovation into Action”. During the week, experts from the digital technology, education, health, and WASH sectors, will be sharing their insights on innovation with audiences and collaborators from across Tanzania. The purpose of Innovation Week is to inspire current and future leaders in the country to take risks on new ideas, collaborate across sectors, and transform Tanzania through the scaling of innovation. The majority of the events are going to be hosted at the Commission for Science and Technology (COSETCH), where you are welcome to join us all week long for the many public events.

Hubs, maker-spacers, and accelerators from around Tanzania will come together to showcase what they do, network, and meet the public, policymakers, innovators, and funders. HDIF will also present its study on hubs and the innovation ecosystem which highlights where hubs are clustered, challenges they face, services they provide, how and why they come and go, and what could be done to support them.
