Open source classroom management software

I came across this software? Has anyone used it?

Epoptes ( a Greek word for overseer) is an open source computer lab management and monitoring tool. It allows for screen broadcasting and monitoring, remote command execution, message sending, imposing restrictions like screen locking or sound muting the clients and much more!

It claims it supports NX/ no-machine which means it would run on Android? I can’t imagine the more advanced functionality would work.

Another alternative is https://veyon.io/ who are working on an Android client

Veyon seems the more capable bit of software after having a quick look at both of them.

Have you tried pinet?

This sounds interesting. Worth trying out.

I am trying it on a virtual environment - I will update you.

Daniel.

I’ll look forward to that.

Looks like Veyon will be able to manage Android clients next year https://veyon.nodebb.com/topic/945/android-clients

Might be interesting to run Rachel and Veyon on a teacher laptop such as

Then have kids access via cheap tablets https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PXB4F7N/ref=psdc_1232597011_t2_B00UML152E

Interesting stuff, I still think I would prefer the the Pi 4 as a desktop, but I’m not sure now
