Just wondering why all ebooks on Rachel are in pdf format. This takes out the reading and interactivity features that are available in some ebooks especially in epub format. Is it because RACHEL cannot support epub?
I’m not sure there is anything preventing use of epub. Mostly I think PDF has greater universal support and was more widely available when we gathered open source books. I’m not sure if those are available as epub, but if you had epub downloaded and loaded them to the server it should work fine.
Yep, found a great deal of books from Bloom Library which are in epub. Have downloaded a few and will definitely explore ways to have them open directly in the browser rather than asking to download.
I’ve got them downloaded to the server however upon clicking the link its downloading and not opening directly in the browser.
