Connecting a USB Keyboard to the gadget and pressing Ctrl+D seems to solve the problem

After using USB Keyboard to reboot, then, the best way is to avoid the problem in the future is by double clicking when you want to switch off. Switch on normally, but double click when you want to switch off.
